On February 26, 2014, the Greenfield Central School Board approved the following guidelines for weather make up days during the 2013-14 school year only:

1. GC will have school on March 17, 18, 19 and 20 as scheduled during the first week of Spring Break for earlier school cancellations this year.
2. If necessary, GC will use Friday, March 21, 2014, as a make up day.
3. Any additional GC make up days will add one hour (sixty minutes) to the end of the regular school day, beginning on March 31, 2014, or on the first Monday following any cancelled school day, at the rate of six hours for each cancelled school day.
4. In the event of a two-hour delay, that day will not be used toward the make up schedule because it would not meet the 60 minute replacement.

School Board Organization

Membership: The five member Board of School Trustees (school board) is elected to serve overlapping four year terms. The school district is divided into four regions with one at large district. School board members reside in the school district and are elected in the November general election.

Function: The function of the Board of School Trustees is to establish school policies, adopt an operating budget and tax rate for the school district, and authorize the expenditure of funds from the approved budget. The board also acts upon recommendations of the Superintendent of Schools on a wide variety of topics, including personnel matters, curriculum issues, facility needs, transportation, school/community relations, etc.

Meetings: Business meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings may be held in any of the school buildings or at the Administrative Center at 110 W. North Street. The location for each meeting is determined at the previous meeting. Notice of school board meetings is posted in the Daily Reporter.

Special Meetings, public hearings, and work sessions on various subjects are scheduled as needed.
