Press Release from Greenfield-Central: May 14, 2013
Today it was reported that a visitor at Harris Elementary may have carried a firearm onto school property over the lunch hour. School employees noted that the visitor was seen wearing a holster. No firearm was observed.
The school requested assistance from our Security Resource Officer and the Greenfield Police Department, who responded immediately and escorted the visitor from the school. The matter is currently being handled by local law enforcement.
The safety of the children has been our number one priority today. Our students and staff are very grateful to our local police officers for their immediate response to our request for assistance.
