GC SCHOOL MAKE UP DAYS

On February 26, 2014, the Greenfield Central School Board approved the following guidelines for weather make up days during the 2013-14 school year only:

1. GC will have school on March 17, 18, 19 and 20 as scheduled during the first week of Spring Break for earlier school cancellations this year.
2. If necessary, GC will use Friday, March 21, 2014, as a make up day.
3. Any additional GC make up days will add one hour (sixty minutes) to the end of the regular school day, beginning on March 31, 2014, or on the first Monday following any cancelled school day, at the rate of six hours for each cancelled school day.
4. In the event of a two-hour delay, that day will not be used toward the make up schedule because it would not meet the 60 minute replacement.

As a Substitute Teacher for Greenfield-Central, there are three basic requests made by our classroom teachers repeatedly:

  • Do your best to follow the lesson plans. If you do not understand any directions, ask a nearby teacher for help. Do not take it upon yourself to add or omit plans, and do not take students for extra recess or “fieldtrips” within the building.
  • Always keep the class quiet and under control. Other classes around you should not be disrupted by noise from your room. Handle discipline problems with calm patience. Report any problems to the building principal.
  • Always leave the classroom teacher a note about how the day went. Include who was absent, behavior problems, and what lessons were not completed due to lack of time.
