✏️ Creative Writing at GCHS!

✏️ Teacher Kristen Lawrence at Greenfield-Central High School says . . .

“Our Creative Writing students recently wrapped up an exciting poetry unit focused on exploring the many ways they can express ideas, emotions, and experiences through poetry. Throughout the unit, students practiced writing in nine different poetic forms, challenging themselves to experiment with structure, language, voice, and perspective.

To bring the unit together, each student compiled a personal collection of their revised poems into a poetry book. But the project didn’t stop with the poems themselves. Each student also included an anecdote accompanying each piece, sharing the inspiration, experience, or creative thinking behind their writing.

The finished books showcase not only the students’ creativity, but also the growth that comes through the writing process—drafting, revising, reflecting, and finding their own unique voices as writers. I am so proud of the thought, creativity, and personal expression my Creative Writing students poured into their work!”
